Last weekend, I tried it out. It was SO close to being brilliant, but was let down by a couple of things that could so easily have elevated it.
Lets start with the ingredients: 2 Delicious Pork Sausages, 2 bacon, 1 perfectly poached egg, mushrooms, half a tomato, some great black pudding, (not overcooked as so many do), beans and 2 rounds of thick toast. I think it was let down by not having the beans in a ramekin or the likes, (its purely a personal thing – I don’t like contamination). There was also a bit of a wait – only 15 minutes, but…
The ingredients were all very good quality. Bacon and sausage are from a ‘local supplier’ – tasted superb, the black pudding was excellent, there were plenty of mushrooms, it was a very good, very filling breakfast
Its a decent deal. £7.95 is middle of the range, price wise, however, it does include a coffee, which was very nice and makes it suddenly a VERY good value breakfast indeed. A lovely touch, was that they provided a small jug of boiling water which was perfect for me as I often find places that make decent coffee make it a little strong for me. A small but very much appreciated touch.
If the beans were separate, I genuinely think this breakfast could be a contender. It could well be worth a 9 fried egg status, rather than the 8.
