Just up the road from the Eight Foot Grocer in the Jewellery Quarter is a tiny cafe. It has 4 seats, (it would be a crush if they were all ocupied).

It serves that classic combination of Full English and various South Eastern Asian Dishes, like Chicken Katsu Curry, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Onion and Basil, Tom-Yum and lots more. I was accidentally in Birmingham, bought some fabulous Peel and Stone bread at the Eight Foot Grocer and thought it was an opportunity not to be missed.

I was offered a ‘normal’ coffee, (instant), which I am ashamed to say I prefer to 90% of that fresh ground stuff – though I must point out that they do have ‘proper’ coffee, too. My breakfast came with a tea or ‘normal’ coffee – which suited me just fine. It cost £5.90.
Breakfast was large. Not specifically ordered large, but it was bigger than you would normally expect. 2 bacon rashers, 2 sausages, 2 fried eggs, (1 overdone – probably as it was underneath the first one), lots of mushrooms, a tea cup of baked beans, (I asked for them separately – I doubt they would have fit on the plate, 2 rounds of toast, a crispy hash brown, tinned tomatoes. As I said, its big.

The sausage was sliced along its length, (I assume to ensure thorough cooking). Nicely cooked, tasted good.

Would I recommend this place: Yes! Its good value for money and a tasty, large breakfast.
