Sometimes a breakfast is just what you need. This morning I was desperate for a breakfast, (there is a tiny chance that I may have had a few beers the night before. I slept in and missed the hotel breakfast – so I went out treking. No far from my hotel was The Pantry Cafe.

It was a proper old school greasy spoon. It is tiny, with very cramped seats that were fixed to the tables. The kitchen was open and clean, however, it looked very dated. I ordered a coffee which came with milk, (I generally take it black).

I went for the N8, which consisted of a perfectly cooked fried egg, bacon, a longer than normal sausage, (crap quality though), about 2/3 of a tomato sliced, plenty of mushrooms which were covered by the beans, (I am not convinced that they were Heinz, they seemed a little watery by comparison), some ‘bubble’. This was particuarily awful. Again, it had carrots in it? WT effing F?! It also came with 2 slices of bread and butter.

The staff were nice, efficient, but the end result was poor. Very poor indeed.

As a positive, its one of the few things you can buy in That London for £6.70!
